London Riverside

London Riverside sign

Havering is committed to the regeneration of London Riverside.

This is an area that stretches from Barking Reach to Wennington Marshes, Rainham Village, the areas of Ferry Lane and Coldharbour Lane, the former industrial areas once owned by the Ford Motor Company and the A1306.

What is London Riverside?

London Riverside will be a new mixed urban centre on the River Thames. It will make best use of land to accommodate leading-edge businesses and sustainable housing, new leisure and community facilities designed around new and existing public transport and integrated with existing communities.

The Havering section of London Riverside could, by 2020, generate:

  • 10,000 new jobs
  • 5,000 new homes
  • An internationally recognised conservation park
